TALES OF THE BLOGGEROB

"Today, you will wear clothes you don't want to wear, you'll drive somewhere you don't want to be, and do things you don't want to do. Have a nice day!" --Ratbert

Down with the Sickness

Being sick at home was different before having kids. Especially with one as sick as yourself. What was hanging out all day playing videogames or sleep has turned into in a work excercise of one sick guy taking care of another sick ... well, guy ... demanding attention. It's a different kind of fun, but not certainly not as relaxing as those videogames or sweet sleep.

Anyways, what's going on in RedBrickLand? Earthdawn and Fading Suns are chugging along as before, the next releases will be the ED3 versions of Ardanyan's Revenge and the Shards Collection Volume One. We have also ordered proofs for the new Earthdawn novel Immortal Twilight, which is going to be available very soon.

The development forums of Blue Planet and Age of Legend 4e are slowly being filled with life again. It's been a long pause, but I assume the pace will increase steadily. Can't wait to see how those will pan out to be honest, so the next couple of months will be interesting.

GenCon is over, and both Earthdawn and Western City were received well as it seems. We're looking forward to go over the details of our first sales report pretty soon, which will be pretty exciting. "Going great" is just a phrase until the numbers prove it. I doubt they'll disappoint, however!

Development on Equinox went through a typical team-finding-phase last months, where we sorted out our common goals and discussed who wants to do what, etc. The discussions are really awesome, mayn ideas there we can (and will) use. The main fluff is being created next, after that we return to designing the rules.

For Pro-Indie, Barbaren ... let me correct that ... BARBAREN! is at the printers and will be ready for preordering in a couple of days. Because it's in german only for the moment, let me give you the capsule (it's a very rough translation, so beware):

»A man needs to defend his territory, slay his enemies, and get laid as often as possible.«

Quote of the legendary Barbarian Warlord Kuthroc

You are a real MAN. Your arms are as thick as young trees, other people aren't even able to lift up your sword from the ground, and your dick is 10 inches long. No shit! You swim through torrential rivers, climb the highest mountains, and hunt tigers and bears in the deep forests of your homeland. You slay your enemies like cattle, wading ankle-deep through their blood. You fear no one! After the battle, you get yourself filled up with mead and get some woman for a blowjob. In short: you are a BARBARIAN! If you thought regular roleplaying games are sexistic and glorify violence, get a load of this: BARBARIANS!, the ultimative Macho-Roleplaying Game. BARBARIANS! is a satirical roleplaying game far away from good taste. If you like insinuating jokes, trashy splatter-Porn-Fantasy-Flicks or Manowar, then you will like this. Ugh!

Sounds fun? Maybe we'll do a translation then next year.^^

That said, back to work.
